Text Analysis

该篇阅读文章难度适中、语言地道,其话题易激发学生兴趣,围绕take the baby gorilla back to its family展开,以及对作者的一系列动作,感受和心理的描写,引人入胜。

 

Students Analysis

由于网络模拟授课,没有真实课堂的学生反馈。但就初二学生而言,大部分学生基础扎实,有一定的语言组织表达能力,因此在教学设计时更应该关注学生英语核心素养的培养,即语言能力、文化品格、思维品质和学习能力的培养。

 

 

Teaching Aims

基于核心素养的目标:

1.语言能力:

  (1)使大部分学生可以基本掌握本课时的重点单词,词汇和重要句型。

(2)在本阅读中重点培养学生分析能力,推测能力,猜词能力,概括能力。

2.学习能力和思维品质:

  (1)使大部分学生能够根据上下文推测作者想法,并根据设置的问题理解文章内涵,能找出文章中的主题,理解故事的情节。同时培养学生的分析概括能力。

(2) 学习中善于记要点。如结合思维导图,把握作者的情感发展与应对动作。使大部分学生能够通过对文章的分析解读,模仿原文,利用重点句型进行续写。

3.文化品格:

 引导学生正确看待危险,在遇到危险的情况下要保持冷静。

 引导学生有爱心,乐于助人,哪怕面对危险也要勇往直前。

 

Teaching focuses

1.使大部分学生掌握recognizefrighten, frightened,   frightening,terrified,shaking等重要单词、词汇和句型。

2.使大部分学生能够根据对文章的分析和解读,根据描写作者的动作,感受和心理进行续写。  

Teaching   Difficulties

1.通过不同学习策略,使学生可以基本掌握并运用课堂所学,进行文章的续写。

2.通过层层阅读,使学生能够真正理解本章内涵,并在此基础上加以思索,形成较好的分析思辨能力。

Step 1

Lead in

Play a video   and make students relaxed. Then lead in the topic “How do you feel if you   meet a gorilla?”

What will you do if you meet a gorilla?”

Watch a video   and talk about their feelings

 

Lead in the   topic and some new words.

 

 

 

 

STEP 2

Reading

 

Ask students:

Who were   mentioned in the story?

Where did the   story happen?

How did the   writer feel?

Skim and get the answers to the questions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Improve Ss’ reading skills

Ask Ss to read the passage carefully and find out:

1.        What did the writer do?

2.        How did she feel?

3.        What was she thinking?

Para1: Let students read para.1 and get the answers.

Ask students: What does “recognize” mean? And   What’s the main idea of Para. 1?

Para2. Let students read para2 and guess what the writer   thought.

Get the main   idea of para.2.

Para34: Let students read para.3-4 and get the answers.   Explain the words: frighten, frightened, frightening and guess the meaning of   “shaking”.

Ask Ss: What   should you do if you meet a gorilla?

         How did the writer write para.4?

1.Read para1-4 and get the answers to the questions.

2.Guess the meaning

3.Guess the writer’s thought according to the   passage.

4. Get the main idea of each para.

STEP 3

After-

reading

Ask students   to retell the story, analyze the structures of each para. Then ask Ss to   write a para about what happened after the gorillas left.

“After they   left, I ……. I thought…”

Retell the story and analyze the structures of   each para, write a para like that.

Improve Ss’   ability of writing

Step 4

Homework

Ask them to write   a passage about “what will you do if you find a sick baby gorilla?”

 

 

Write a short passage.

Consolidate what they have learned.
