I’m happy to know you’re coming to China soon. The custom in our country is very different from yours. Let me give you some suggestions about staying in my home and some advice about China.

 When you’re eating at the table, it’s polite to let the older start eating first . It’s impolite to stand up to get the food. Never stick your chopsticks into your food. You’re not supposed to point at anyone with your chopsticks.

 In our house, you’re supposed to say “I’m coming back” when you get home from school. You’re not supposed to go out on school nights. You’re supposed to clean up your room every morning.

When you go out with your friends or other people, you should call first or have an appointment with them. You should arrive on time or a little earlier. It’s impolite to keep others waiting.
